Hover above the scattered data points and you will hear the slope of each point with respect to the origin (y axis divided x axis) represented as a sonification. In this example you will see distance travelled by cars (Y axis) in a certain number of minutes (X axis).
For instance, the Ford travelled 20 miles in 20 minutes. The sound when you hover of the Ford represents the Average Velocity of the Ford(in this case, the slope, Distance/Time). Higher the pitch, higher the average velocity.
